I’m a designer and artist. I do this, that and the other. Sometimes all three. Not at the same time though. Noreen, designer/owner FB.init("848ea37cdbdde4dccab949bb9e04ff1a"); FineCrafted Design & Decor on Facebook FineCrafted is my business name, and it covers a variety of interests for me: designing custom cabinetry, photography and hunting/rehabbing treasures for a co-op space where I showcase furniture, art and vintage kitchenalia. Prior to launching my own design business, I designed full-time for a custom cabinetry shop for over seven years. A few of the things I designed in that time are shown here, but most I never got to see after they left the shop - the majority of my clients are outside my local area. I have to credit my mother for sparking my interest in design and home decorating. Many of my toys encouraged my creativity by allowing me to mold the world to the way I wanted it to be: constructing with Lego Logs, decorating Barbie’s townhouse, graphing home floor plans. After school, I was lucky enough to experience a variety of manufacturing and design jobs that have provided me with a thorough understanding of the myriad details necessary to create functional, comfortable spaces. After ten years in the housing industry and seven years designing custom cabinetry, I now work independently with select clients to build the space of their dreams. Using a client’s dream list, I incorporate all their wants and needs with their actual physical space. With computer-generated pictures to illustrate my ideas, that space comes to life! The client is able to view the space from all angles before committing to pricey space alterations or custom cabinetry. Through partnerships with local cabinetry shops and decorating houses, I’m able to see the project through to its completion, providing peace of mind for my client and a gorgeous living space for them and their family for many years to come. I looked around and agreed, but admitted that it didn’t start out that way. I started out with wallpaper and two colors - the ceiling and the trim. After painting that, I wanted more color on the doors, so I added a couple accent colors. Then the wainscot needed to be darker to balance the rest of the color.
