Winter Paradise (via Nori’s Finecrafted)
I can understand the appeal of being isolated for the winter months - especially if I had a mountain-stone fireplace and plenty of firewood on the porch.
My grandfather was raised in this house. Before I was born, he owned land on this mountain. As their family grew, though, it became more and more difficult for he and my grandmother to live in such a remote location. They didn’t own a car, and the roads didn’t come close enough for school buses. So, they sold the homestead and moved into town. Sad, that. This would be such a piece of heaven now.
BTW…I shot this from my car window, shortly before I decided to turn around and go home. Note the ice on those trees in the background.
